DUIs, Citations and Crashes Reported During Bikefest in Leesburg

The Leesburg Bikefest resulted in at least 45 citations — including five DUIs — and 55 traffic warnings through early Saturday by law enforcement.

According to Leesburg police, there also was one felony drug arrest, an arrest made off a felony warrant and four civil citations.

There were also four crashes with injuries in Lake County involving motorcycles.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Florida Highway Patrol and officers from other nearby police agencies have been called in to help patrol the event.

Police said the numbers reflect incidents in the outer perimeter traffic areas of the Bikefest venue — a venue that stretches between 9th to Kaolin streets and Magnolia to Meadow streets.
