A driver died earlier this month after she sped through a stop sign in Lake County and was hit by another driver, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The accident happened around 6:25 p.m. The Eustis woman was driving a 1994 Honda northbound on Thrill Hill Road as another driver in a 2014 Dodge was headed eastbound on Burlington Avenue.
According to the FHP, the deceased “failed to stop at the stop sign” at the intersection of those two roads. The front of the Dodge struck the left side of the Honda.
The Eustis woman was taken to Waterman Hospital.
The 28-year-old Leesburg driver of the Dodge was taken to Leesburg Regional Medical Center for minor injuries.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts, and no alcohol was involved, according to the FHP.
